powercfg

Fresh windows installs as of (I think) Windows 8 won't properly shutdown but only go into some hibernation state to speed up the boot time.

For dual-boot setups it is preferable to have windows completely shutdown. This can be achieved by opening a powershell as administrator and executing

POWERCFG /HIBERNATE OFF
